Day trip to Eswatini
Discover the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) on a varied day tour full of scenic highlights, cultural encounters, and traditional craftsmanship. After crossing the border, the route takes you via Piggs Peak into the lush Ezulwini Valley, whose name translates to “Heavenly Valley” in English. Along the way, we stop for photos at the impressive Maguga Dam, located in one of the world’s best-preserved volcanic regions.
A special highlight is the visit to the renowned Ngwenya Glass Factory. On weekdays, you can watch skilled artisans blowing glass by hand and explore beautifully crafted, one-of-a-kind pieces. The journey then continues along the ring road around the capital Mbabane, with breathtaking views of the iconic mountain peaks Sheba’s Breasts and Execution Rock, both steeped in fascinating local history.
In Malkerns, we stop at Swazi Candles, a traditional candle-making workshop where each candle is handcrafted and individually decorated with care and creativity. You’ll have the chance to watch every step of the process, from softening the wax to shaping and finishing each unique piece.
For lunch, we visit a local restaurant where you’ll enjoy authentic Swazi cuisine and warm hospitality. The Ezulwini Valley will leave you in awe, not just for its natural beauty, but also for the meaningful encounters with its people, culture, and traditions. An unforgettable day in the heart of southern Africa.
