The Bosveld Villa is the result of a shared idea – supported by trust, friendship and a love of nature.
What began as a journey became a passion project. Today, we are a small, diverse team shaping this place together: with different perspectives, experiences, and strengths – but with a shared mindset.
We work with heart, respect, and joy to make our guests feel welcome. Not perfect, but genuine. Not loud, but lovingly thought out.

Our story
My name is Susanne, and my thirst for adventure, curiosity, and deep fascination with South African nature, wildlife, and culture gripped me many years ago – and has never let go.
This led me to fulfill a heartfelt dream with the Bosveld Villa:
to have my own guesthouse in the South African bush.
After more than 15 years of personal travel experiences in this beautiful country, I now have the opportunity to share my enthusiasm and knowledge with our guests.
I currently commute between Germany and South Africa for both work and personal reasons, but my heart beats here, in the middle of the bush, where nature, encounters, and tranquility combine in a unique way.
When I invited my childhood friend Ute, along with her husband Udo and their daughter Jana, to the Bosveld Villa at the beginning of 2024, it was initially just a visit. But this encounter developed into something more: a shared idea, a sense of belonging—and the desire to further develop this place together.
Of course, all of this would not be possible without our strong local team, which is growing closer every day!
Today, we continue to shape the Bosveld Villa as a team – with all our hearts, with respect for people and nature, and with the goal of creating a place for our guests that will leave a lasting impact.

Bosveld Villa is intended to be a place where sustainability becomes tangible – not through big words, but through small, consistent decisions. We value fair cooperation, local structures, and respectful treatment of resources, people, and the environment.
Our goal is not just to be a place to stay, but a space for genuine experiences. For us, sustainable tourism means traveling mindfully—with open eyes, an open heart, and an awareness of the world we inhabit.

Alicia
Room fairy, Kitchen hand & future cook
My name is Alicia, and I help out in the kitchen at Bosveld Villa – a place that has given me the wonderful opportunity to learn the art of cooking from scratch.
Every day, I grow a little beyond myself and discover the joy of creating something special for our guests using fresh ingredients.
My favorite spot is on the deck near the wellness area – it's the perfect place to relax and watch the animals peacefully passing by.

If I could offer our guests a tip:
Start your day with our breakfast, enjoy the sunshine by the pool – and don’t miss the open-air safari. It’s definitely worth it!
Owell
Keeper of the Paths & Silent Guardian of the Land
I am Owell and I take care of the gardens and outdoor areas to help keep Bosveld Villa beautiful, peaceful and welcoming.
What I enjoy most is working in nature and seeing guests relax and enjoy the calm surroundings.
If Bosveld Villa were a movie, I would be the caretaker working quietly in the background to make sure everything stays beautiful.
My favourite place is the Boma, where guests gather in the evening around the fire to share stories and enjoy the moment.

Thulani
Our all-rounder outdoors & indoors
My name is Thulani, and I take care of the gardens and maintenance at Bosveld Villa – ensuring that everything remains as it should: well-kept, beautiful, and in harmony with nature.
My favorite spot is our elevated viewing deck. From there, I can see everything: the animals, the bush, sunrises, sunsets – simply the beauty of this place.
The moment I was welcomed into the team is unforgettable for me. I feel truly seen and valued here – a feeling I want to share with our guests.

My tip:
Take the time to consciously notice how close you are to nature here. Watch the animals through the window from your bed, while having breakfast on the veranda, or by the fire under the stars – they’re all around you.
Pretty
Heart of the kitchen
I am Pretty and I work as the chef at Bosveld Villa.
I love creating delicious menus and seeing how much our guests enjoy the meals and the time spent together.
My favourite place is the dining area, where guests can relax and enjoy the surrounding nature before or after dinner. In the evening, when the Boma fire is glowing, the atmosphere becomes even more special.
One of my favourite moments is serving a beautifully prepared dinner and seeing how much our guests enjoy the food, the atmosphere and the surroundings.

Nozipho
Room fairy
I am Goodness and part of the housekeeping team at Bosveld Villa.
I make sure our rooms are clean, welcoming and filled with thoughtful details. What I enjoy most is seeing how a space transforms into a place where guests feel comfortable and at ease.
I especially enjoy working in the guest rooms, creating a warm and homely atmosphere. It always means a lot to me when guests notice and appreciate the small towel decorations I create.

Leave a little note or drawing – it makes the space feel even more personal.
Susanne
Co-founder and heart of the villa
I am Susanne – co-founder of Bosveld Villa and a passionate host.
My love for South Africa began over 14 years ago, sparked by a fascination with its untouched nature, the wild animals, the vibrant colors of the bush, and the rich culture of this country. What started as a longing has now evolved into a true passion project with Bosveld Villa.
When I'm on-site, I focus on every detail – ensuring the well-being of our guests, managing the on-site organization, and making sure each stay is complete and unforgettable. What I find most fulfilling is sharing my experiences and favorite places, helping guests discover this beautiful country with open eyes and hearts.
My personal favorite spot is the pool and wellness area – a place of peace and serenity. When the animals pass by, the sun sets, and you're simply still, you feel how truly special this spot on earth is.
A moment I’ll never forget? A leopard's nighttime visit—and falling asleep to the distant sounds of lions and hyenas.

My tip for a perfect day:
Spend a day in the Kruger, open to whatever comes your way – and enjoy a sundowner by the Crocodile River in the evening. Often, that’s all you need.

Gerald
Craftsmanship, heart & a good glass of wine
I’m Gerald – responsible for everything that needs to be repaired, fixed, or improved.
With joy and craftsmanship, I keep our lodge in top condition – from the tropical garden to the last door handle.
My favorite spot is by the pool or on the viewing deck – relaxing, enjoying nature, and watching the sunset over the Kruger with a glass of wine. These are the moments that make this place so special.
An unforgettable moment for me was when I first entered Bosveld Villa with our niece – and knew, right then, that this was where we belong.
My tip:
Go on a safari in the Kruger – and end the day with a sundowner by the Crocodile River. Just enjoy.
Udo
Partner with peace, camera & coffee
I’m Udo – and although I don’t yet have a permanent role at Bosveld Villa, I’m deeply involved.
Whether as a quiet supporter, an observer with a camera, or a breakfast guest among the zebras – I especially enjoy the unique atmosphere of this place.
My favorite spot is the dining area – especially in the morning, when the animals pass by and you can just sit there with a coffee in hand.
If Bosveld Villa were a film, I would be the cameraman – always searching for the perfect angle, but never in the foreground.

Ute
Partner
I am Ute – often very quiet, but fully present with all my senses.
What I love about Bosveld Villa is the peace and quiet. The observation. The simple act of being. When I lie in my favorite spot—where the stairs to the rooftop terrace begin—surrounded by animals, but without them noticing me, those are some of the most precious moments for me.
This closeness to the animal world never stops touching me. It's not loud, it's not spectacular—it's simply there.

Let yourself be guided through the bush on foot, take a deep breath, and end the day by the river. That’s all you need.
Jana
Digital heartbeat of the Bosveld Villa
I’m Jana – part of the team behind the scenes.
I’m fascinated by what happens when people from very different parts of the world come together in one place – a place that is not only beautiful but also meaningful. Bosveld Villa was intended to be exactly that kind of place: honest, open, mindful – surrounded by nature, life, and tranquility.
My favorite spot? The pool area with its view of the bush—best at sunrise, when everything is still quiet.
The moment I saw the villa for the first time is unforgettable for me. It was less a plan and more a feeling: This is pure magic.
Being part of this project with my family and our wonderful team is incredibly fulfilling for me – and I hope that this same feeling will reach our guests.
